It all started when I was contemplating career possibilities after high school. I was considering X-ray technology and approached my dad for money to apply to colleges. He asked why I wanted to pursue that career, and I answered, as many teens do, “I don't know.”
He asked what it was I enjoyed doing the most, and I said “drawing.” He wisely replied, “Then that's the career you should go after, where your passion is.”
Wow, I am ever thankful for his loving advice! It is an enormous blessing to enjoy what I do while making a living doing it. Both of my parents (shown here in their courtin’ days) were so supportive, not only of my pursuing an art education but ultimately of my starting my own company.
So here I am—after earning an Associate’s Degree in Visual Communication at the Art Institute of Pittsburgh in 1979 and working in the field of graphic design—still lovin' it!
